Douglas Westlund

Douglas Westlund, Solliden, Skansen i juli 1992.    

 

Den här mannen, trumslagaren Douglas Westlund, syntes i alla de  möjliga och omöjliga TV-sammanhang under 60-70-80-talet. Douglas satt i alla de band som var värt namnet. Bl a i Lasse Samuelssons orkester. När Sven-Ingvars gjorde några av sina mest kända klassiker på platta, var det inte gruppen trummis Sven Svärd som spelade. Det var (gissa vem?) alldeles rätt: Douglas Westlund!

 

Douglas sågs även i Sveriges Magasin i tidigt 1970-tal. Han spelade med gruppen Telstars under 60-talet, han var även en ofta anlitad studiomusiker. Douglas Westlund, var mannen som gav trummorna ett ansikte här i landet.

 

I februari detta år, tilldelades Douglas Westlund och Hasse Rosén (gitarrist som en gång spelade i The Violents), priset som "Årets studiorävar". Herrarna Westlund/Rosén fick ett diplom samt 50 000 vardera. Konferenicer och utdelare på galan var Per Herrey.

 

Douglas Westlund, gör PR för Ludwig Vistalite trummor i

början av 70-talet.

 

Eftersom Douglas var nåt av en trumidol, och därtill en

super grym trummis, så gjorde jag likadant: köpte mig

ett par Ludwig Vistalite.

 

Även Piteå kommunala musikskola inhandlade ett

Ludwigset Vistalite, exakt ett sånt som Douglas

spelade på i TV.

 

 Douglas Westlund spelade med Telstars under 1960-talet.

Kjell Öhman var också en av gruppens medlemmar.
